Elevating the Energy: Secret Circus Society Hypes the Crowd as the “Good Vibes Rangers” at Camp Alderwild in Telluride CO
This August, the Secret Circus Society headed up to the breathtaking mountain backdrop of Telluride, Colorado, to bring our unique brand of roving mischief, joy, and high-energy crowd engagement to Camp Alderwild. Stepping into our roles as the Good Vibes Rangers, our mission was simple: hunt down low energy, boost the fun factor, and ensure everyone at the camp was thoroughly looked after—with a heavy dose of shenanignas, of course.
Classic Ranger Gear Meets Festival Whimsy
To pull off the Good Vibes Ranger persona, our team suited up in classic ranger-inspired attire elevated with custom festival flair. Moving right through the heart of the crowd on foot, our look struck the perfect balance between authoritative park safety and whimsical, theatrical fun, allowing us to interact eye-to-eye with every camper we met.
Policing the Fun: The “Good Vibes” Citations
You can’t be a ranger without handing out a few tickets, right? Throughout the weekend, we “patrolled” the festival grounds to keep morale soaring. If someone was caught looking too serious, dancing too hard, or radiating exceptional joy, they got officially busted. Our signature line became a festival-wide catchphrase:
“That’s a citation. Next time it’s a warning.”
It instantly broke the ice, turned strangers into best friends, and had festival-goers cracking up wherever we went.
Spreading the Gospel of “Safety Third”
Every good camp needs a motto, and ours struck a chord with the entire festival population. We proudly championed the creed of “Safety Third.” Before long, we couldn’t walk past a group without seeing folks flash us the official “Safety Third” hand signal right back. It became a badge of honor for the community—a playful nod to the wild, free-spirited, and adventurous nature of festival culture.
Hosting the Stage and Working the Crowd
Beyond roaming the grounds and hyping people up tent-to-tent, the Secret Circus Society took the reins on the stage as the official MCs for the festival’s talent show and the legendary Stick Nation stick contest. When we weren’t commanding the mic, you could find us right in the thick of the action—climbing up on massive speakers to dance alongside the DJs and keep the dance floor electric.
The best part of being roving characters is the spontaneous connection. Nothing beats the feeling of walking past a group of festival-goers and hearing them shout out:
“Secret Circus, we love you!”
Bring the Magic to Your Next Event
At the end of the day, festivals are about connection, play, and shared joy. As the Good Vibes Rangers at Camp Alderwild, we were reminded why we do what we do: transforming an event into an extraordinary, immersive experience.
